Regional Executive Committee and Zonal Wings
The Indian Research Scholars Association (IRSA), under its Regional Executive Committee, has established six Zonal Wings: the Northeast Zone, Northern Zone, Southern Zone, Eastern Zone, Western Zone, and Central Zone. These wings comprise members representing various states, universities, colleges, and research institutions across India, ensuring broad-based academic representation and regional participation. The Zonal Wings play a pivotal role in advancing academic decentralization, fostering intellectual collaboration, and promoting region-specific scholarly engagement. They facilitate effective coordination among researchers, encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, and strengthen institutional networks at the regional and grassroots levels. By bringing together diverse socio-cultural, linguistic, and epistemological perspectives, the wings promote inclusivity and enrich the national academic discourse. They also support the organization of regional seminars, conferences, symposia, and other scholarly initiatives, while encouraging research dissemination, knowledge exchange, and leadership development among emerging scholars. Furthermore, this decentralized structure enhances administrative efficiency, strengthens participatory governance, and promotes equitable academic outreach across regions. Collectively, the six Zonal Wings reinforce IRSA’s national presence, institutional cohesion, and commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive, and collaborative research community throughout India.
