About the Workshop: The objective of the SPSS workshop was to give the students a foundational understanding of the software. Instruct on using SPSS software for significant statistical computations. Talk about the various uses of SPSS software in research. To encourage pupils to adopt a research mindset. Topics covered in the workshop included: Students’ questions about the SPSS software were addressed and resolved, along with the fundamentals of the program, its many uses in research, and how to use its capabilities for data analysis. While Alchemer includes robust built-in reporting tools that are user-friendly and available for most online surveys, NPS surveys, and employee satisfaction surveys, most researchers believe that SPSS is the finest option for in-depth data analysis. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, or SPSS, is a program many academics use to analyze complex statistical data. The software package SPSS was developed for the purpose of managing and analysing social science data statistically. IBM purchased it in 2009 after it was first introduced by SPSS Inc. in 1968. Although IBM SPSS Statistics is the official name, most users still call it SPSS. Because of its remarkably comprehensive user manual and simple, English-like command language, SPSS is the industry standard for social science data analysis and is highly sought after. Market researchers, health researchers, survey firms, government agencies, researchers in education, marketing firms, data miners, and a host of other fields handle and analyze survey data, including that gathered using an online survey platform like Alchemer. Most leading research agencies employ SPSS for text mining and survey data analysis to maximize the value of their research and survey initiatives. Four programs are available from SPSS to help researchers with their intricate data analysis requirements. Numerous fundamental statistical operations, such as frequencies, crosstabulation, and bivariate statistics, are available in SPSS’s Statistics program. In almost every field of work, being confident and competent in analyzing data and drawing conclusions is extremely helpful. Karl Pearson has rightly said, “Statistics is the grammar of science .” Statistics knowledge helps us use proper methods to collect data, employ correct analyses, and effectively present the results. Statistical methods and analyses allow us to evaluate claims based on quantitative evidence and differentiate between reasonable and dubious conclusions. With free and ubiquitous data availability, there is a growing demand for statistical analyses of the data in almost every field of work. Keeping this in the backdrop, this workshop has been designed to overcome the fear of statistics, learn the essential tools, and feel confident in analyzing your data through the statistical package SPSS. SPSS is a comprehensive and user-friendly statistical package widely used by scientists throughout the social sciences to analyze quantitative data.

Objective of the Workshop: The workshop will demonstrate a few popular statistical methods for data analysis with SPSS and Microsoft Excel. The fundamentals of Excel and SPSS, data handling, cross tables, graphs, and charts, descriptive statistics, correlation, simple and multiple regression, curve fitting, parametric and non-parametric tests, ANOVA (one-way and two-way), factor analysis, cluster analysis, and survival analysis are just a few of the subjects that will be covered in the workshop. This training session aims to introduce the basics of SPSS to working professionals interested in data analysis who need more computation and statistical analysis using the software. This course would benefit faculty members of colleges and universities, management executives, Industry training professionals, and research scholars who wish to enhance their understanding of this subject. Experts with knowledge of all aspects of the SPSS will train the participants on various topics related to statistical analysis, data mining, and interpretations. The workshop will focus on practical learning through case studies, enabling the participants to practice what they learn through the workshop.

  • Select appropriate research method for conducting empirical research.
  • Select statistical tools for data analysis.
  • Use SPSS and apply the right tools and techniques while conducting research
  • Enhance their analytical skills

Who Can Participate and Criteria of Selection: Filling out the required registration form (found in the link below) will allow registered/enrolled Ph.D. students, faculty members of any accredited university or institute, researchers, and any official or PG student in need of Excel and SPSS to apply for the workshop. The registration shall close once the required number of participants is attained. Thus, participants are advised to apply early and not to wait for the last date.
