Meetings:
1. Executive Committee Meeting
In our monthly or sometimes bi-monthly Executive Committee meetings, we focus on planning upcoming events like workshops, lecture series, and book discussions. Key topics include setting candidate enrollment limits, scheduling session timings, selecting resource persons, and deciding how many workshops will be organized throughout the year. The committee also discusses the specific topics for each event to ensure they align with scholars’ research needs. These meetings provide a platform for addressing logistical and operational details, assigning tasks, and reviewing feedback from past events to improve future programs.
2. General Body Meeting
Our annual General Body Meeting allows all members to reflect on the association’s achievements and collectively plan for the year ahead. We review the annual report of previous events, budget allocations, and overall impact. Strategic decisions are made about upcoming workshops, including maximum enrollment, event scheduling, and new topics based on member feedback. An open discussion invites members to contribute ideas, helping us to tailor future events to best support research scholars.
3. Regional Executive Meetings
Held quarterly, Regional Executive Meetings focus on region-specific planning and adapting our events to meet local research scholars’ needs. These meetings review the logistics of regional workshops, such as determining suitable enrollment caps, resource persons, and timing. Topics are also chosen to reflect regional research interests, and resources are allocated to support localized activities. By working closely with regional representatives, we ensure that our programs are accessible and impactful for scholars across different areas.
4. Advisory Committee Meeting
Our semi-annual Advisory Committee meetings provide a space for reviewing the association’s strategic direction. Advisors offer insights on topics and formats for upcoming workshops, help identify resource persons with specialized expertise, and discuss trends that might influence event themes. They also guide decisions on the number of workshops to hold and advise on ideal enrollment limits to maximize impact. Their expertise shapes long-term plans, ensuring our association stays aligned with the evolving needs of research scholars.
5. Board of Patron Meeting
The annual Board of Patron meeting reviews the association’s alignment with its mission and secures support for the coming year. This meeting covers the strategic plan for workshops and events, including recommended topics, session timings, and the number of sessions to be organized. The board also discusses funding and potential partnerships, ensuring we have the resources needed to execute high-quality, relevant events that enrich the academic journeys of our research scholars.
